The Story:

Ariella-
I've always sewn.   I used to help make ends meet by making bridesmaids dresses and custom costumes.   I took to quilting quite quickly when my mother in law, an avid and extraordinary quilter, inspired me to make a quilt as a gift for my husband, for our wedding.  I've never gone back to real clothes.  My baby quilts and baby carriers were always big hits at baby showers; so after enough encouragement, I launched Quiltingmama.com in 2002.  The rest of the products grew out of the necessities I had after having my first baby (Magnolia, March, 2002).  I quickly saw what was useful and what wasn't.  Some ideas here are mine, some are borrowed, some just common sense.  All have been field tested by me and the many friends who have received them as gifts (and who often turn around and buy them as gifts for others).  I have another baby now, so sewing is a luxury sometimes. but I love it so much, I find the time.  Welcome to my little lemonade stand, or as my husband calls it, my Blanket Empire.
