I have a blanket philosophy...I believe in making blankets that are useful, practical, cute, washable, and affordable.

If you're a new mother, I am sure you received a plethora of blankets- super cute, soft, wonderful blankets. I can guarantee you that none are as great as my "Plenty Big Blanket". You will find all other blankets get folded up and put on a shelf once you get one of these all cotton, gigantic, adorable blankets.

If you are looking for a gift for a baby or toddler (or even a kid- these blankets are Plenty Big enough for even an adult lap!), you will find no handmade blanket as affordable as mine. I have an eye for fabric and a knack for finding good prices, and I pass my savings on to you! It is still handmade, but it is reasonably priced, and a gift that will be used for YEARS to come.

I could make minky or chenille blankets but I don't. Firstly, I never liked the idea of all that linty, fuzzy, unnatural fiber near my newborn, and I don't want it near yours either. Also, it doesn't wash terribly well, and really, with a little one, laundry is a second job. Lastly, I don't like the price tag. I wouldn't want to spend that kind of money on a blanket, so I don't expect you to.

Plenty Big Blankets

This oversized blanket was my favorite for wrapping my newborn baby.  It was big enough to swaddle her without her strong legs kicking through the bottom.  It makes a fantastic playmat, or picnic blanket... Big enough to cover an older child,  the double sided flannel makes it super soft and cozy.  Now that she is almost 5, this blanket doesn't show any signs of being outgrown.

Don't get me wrong, this blanket is big, but without a interal layer, it rolls up nice and compactly, a great size to take along in a diaper bag. The 2 layers of flannel make it plenty warm without any batting, and the cute fabric choices can't be beat.

This is a must have for anyone with a baby, young child, or youthful spirit and a lap!! The cheery designs are especially nice additions to laps in nursing homes as well as backs in nurseries.

These are blankets which fold into their own pocket, creating a comfy pillow.  These are great for throwing in the car and keeping there, for when you need a pillow or a blanket.   The sizes vary- baby all the way through adult throw blanket size.

Crib Fleecies

These soft blankets are great for laying down on a crib under baby. The super soft fleece is cozy and warm. The smaller size makes it a great stroller or car seat blanket. I say smaller size, but that is only in comparison to my "Plenty Big" blankets, because this is actually what others consider "generously sized".

There are 2 layers of fleece, sewn together and with reinforced stiching. Pattern is on one side, with a coordinating solid fleece on the back.
